We found some new treasures for our collection this weekend at the Palm Beach State Holiday Ceramics Sale.
We picked out two pieces by Justin Lambert. The large plate that’s totally different than anything I’ve seen from Justin and the Anagama wood fired pedestal cup. The stunning blue cup is by Karla Walter. The brown pinch pot is by a student we didn’t catch the name of and the soda fired tiny porcelain cup is by Ellen Bates
lol I love the title of this post! You bought some lovely things too 🙂
I figured most of the blogging potters would get it.
I love the title AND the work!
Hey Gina welcome to createniks. I see you’re a fellow Floridian artist as I checked out your blog. Interesting mixed media work BTW.
Yeah we really like all of what we found, it’s a nice addition to our collection. We snoozed on a beautiful bowl by the same artist that made the tiny cup. Turned around at it was gone.
Too bad the bowl got away form you but you did get some great pieces! I bought one of Karla’s teapots last weekend, and even as a potter who loves earthy pots I picked her gorgeous blue one. Your own work is beautiful! I’m enjoying browsing your jewelry and pots at your etsy shop.
Thanks for the complements. We’ve been throwing on the wheel for just over a year now and I just love it. If you search here for DIY potter’s wheel you’ll see the wheel I built to get me and Angi started throwing. If you want to get crazy and buy something we could get rid of the shipping cost and meet you somewhere to deliver.
Oh, what a shame, I bet you were gutted.
I have to ask… did you actually ask Karla if she had one in blue or was it on display?? lol
She had this one and a yellow one on display but showed some pieces “from the back”.
I couldn’t find any bottle caps covered with glitter though.
Love the blue one.
Karla’s work is very nice.
