Mayco Interview

We were recently interviewed by Lisa Culp of Mayco Glazes for their monthly newsletter.
How freaking cool is that!

It’s funny, we worked our asses off for over 20 years as advertising photographers and the only press we ever got was being featured in Communication Arts for work we had done on the Del Monte Fruit campaign for Crispin & Porter Advertising.

We unloaded the accent tiles for this installation out of the kiln with a sigh of relief this morning.  It was their second trip though the kiln for glaze firing.  The first time was at 06 with less than stellar results and this time at 05 and they’re prefect.  We installed these this afternoon and will grout it tomorrow.  Sealer in a couple days.

We’re putting a polished concrete window sill in the bathroom we just finished making tile for.  There’s only room for a 1 inch thick slab so we had to put a extra 2 inches of reveal on the front so the sill will look 3 inches thick.  We also gave it a gentile curve to the face.

I finally made the second concrete countertop for our pantry. Put it off for way to long…but now I have to finish the door and drawer fronts.
